The Notre Dame Experience team is delighted to share some exciting news with you. Alongside our signature elements—the Man of the Shroud Exhibition, the rooftop panoramic tour, and the rich art, archaeology, and history housed within the Notre Dame Center—we are now preparing to unveil a deeply meaningful new addition: the Pentecost Room.
This space will be officially inaugurated and blessed on June 7, in a special celebration presided over by His Eminence Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem.
This new space is more than an addition to our building—it is a profound invitation to encounter the Holy Spirit in a way that is personal, visual, and deeply moving. Through the gifted hands of Chilean artist Daniel Cariola, the biblical moment of Pentecost—when the Spirit descended upon Mary and the Apostles—is brought to life with intensity and beauty. The room’s walls and ceiling form a continuous, immersive mural that allows pilgrims to feel as though they are inside the very heart of the event.
Cariola’s style is expressive, realistic, and full of symbolic meaning. The faces, colors, and movement in the work draw you into the mystery. The room becomes a space not just for admiration, but for prayer, silence, and spiritual awakening.
As we prepare for this meaningful milestone in Notre Dame’s journey, we invite all members of our extended community—near and far—to join us in a Novena to the Holy Spirit, streamed live in English and Spanish through our Facebook Page and Magdala’s social media platforms. This novena will help us open our hearts to the Spirit, in anticipation of the blessing of this new space.
