Shroud Exhibition Reopens at the Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center on Its 20th Anniversary

By Bianca de Mattos C.W.R.C.

February 5th - Pontifical Institute Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center

After a period of preparation and renovation, the Shroud Exhibition at the Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center has reopened, marking twenty years since its inauguration in 2006. Today, the exhibition continues to attract pilgrims, scholars, and visitors from around the world seeking to better understand the Shroud of Turin, one of the most studied and mysterious relics of Christianity.

Developed in collaboration with Othonia, an international institution dedicated to education and research on the Shroud of Turin, the exhibition offers reliable and well-documented content for visitors of all backgrounds and beliefs. Rather than offering definitive conclusions, it encourages dialogue between history, science, and Sacred Scripture.

The renewed exhibition features new informational panels organized around these three pillars, each complemented by QR codes with audio explanations for a flexible, self-guided visit. The experience is further enriched by a life-size replica of the Shroud and images from a three-dimensional reconstruction of the Man of the Shroud, adding a strong visual and educational dimension.

As a central part of the Notre Dame Experience, the Shroud Exhibition forms, together with the Pentecost Room and the 360° Lookouts, a complete and enriching journey that invites reflection, discovery, and encounter.

The exhibition is open Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Visitors may explore the exhibition independently, join a guided visit with a Notre Dame guide at no additional cost, or visit with their own guide.
