March 10th - Pontifical Institute Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center
The Shroud Exhibition at the Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center invites the local community to participate in person in a special cycle of lectures as a path of spiritual preparation during the Lenten season.
In this liturgical season, marked by reflection, conversion, and hope, these conferences wish to offer a space for biblical and spiritual deepening that helps retrace the journey that leads from suffering to life, from death to resurrection, in harmony with the mystery that the Shroud proposes for contemplation.
The three lectures will be given by Fr. Alessandro Cavicchia, OFM, a Franciscan Friar Minor born in Rome in 1968 and a priest since 2000. After his ordination, he has developed an extensive pastoral ministry as a parochial vicar, formator, hospital chaplain, and accompanier in youth and vocation ministry.

He holds a degree in Theology from the Pontifical Antonianum University (Rome, 1996), a degree in Biblical Sciences from the Pontifical Biblical Institute (2001), and a doctorate in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University, with a thesis dedicated to the reception of Psalm 22 (21) in the Dead Sea Scrolls and in the Gospel of John (Le sorti e le vesti, Rome, 2010).
He is currently a member of the Faculty of Biblical Sciences and Archaeology of the Pontifical University Antonianum – Studium Biblicum Franciscanum in Jerusalem. His research focuses mainly on the Gospel of John in dialogue with the Old Testament and the Dead Sea Scrolls, with special attention to intertextual methodology, also integrating spatial theory applied to Johannine literature in recent studies.
