Dear Friends of the Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center,
The uncertain political situation and unrest in the Holy Land has been headlining the news lately. Thankfully, the situation has not really affected the pilgrims who continue to come here to find renewal and strength in the sites made holy by Christ’s presence. The strong pilgrim presence reminds those of us who reside here of how unique and blessed the Holy Land is and keeps much of the uncertainty caused by deep seeded differences in check.
This July we welcomed many pilgrim groups to Notre Dame. I have also noticed an increase in family groups who have strengthened their bonds with each other through the experience of following in the footsteps of Christ together. As well, we hosted 45 priests from all over the world who have come to the Holy Land to deepen their personal relationship with Christ through the Sacerdos Institute Priestly Renewal Course. We offer two four-week sessions here each year, one in January and July. The Holy Land is a place of renewal for all of us and especially our priests.
I hope to keep you up to date about what is happening here at the Notre Dame Center and the Holy Land by offering you our newsletter on a monthly rather than quarterly basis.
Count on my prayers and may our Lord and His Mother continue to bless you and your loved ones abundantly.
Sincerely in Christ,
Father David Steffy, L.C.
If you are reading This and have never been to Jerusalem. We must go as Catholics. My wife and I went in September. It was a trip of a lifetime. Father David is a Wonderful and Holy Spirit. We also went to mass and confession at the Vatican center. The Vatican center is a site I think about often - it is beautiful and has a reverence I can’t explain. God bless
